Ingredients

  • 125 g softened butter
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 75 g caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 200 g plain flour
  • ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 150 g chocolate chips

Method

  1. Beat butter and sugars until creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  2. Fold in flour, bicarbonate and salt, then chocolate chips. Chill for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat oven to 170°C fan-forced. Scoop 18 portions onto lined trays with space between.
  4. Bake for 10–13 minutes until the edges are golden and centres just set.
  5. Cool on the tray for 10 minutes, then move to a rack.
